Oil company exec goes to remote island for oil, palaeontologist sneaks aboard ship, find beautiful castaway, no oil on island, angry natives, KONG!!
Soulless remake of the 1933 classic which starts out quite well but quickly goes down hill when the great man himself appears.
Despite being made 43 years later, the SFX in the original still outshine the ones here with the stop motion being replaced by a man in a suit and some dodgy blue screen.
It's also let down by having no chemistry between the female lead & Kong which is a massive part of what it's all about.
Jeff Bridges is good though & the score by John Barry very impressive.
