A typically vulgar tale from the Farrelly brothers, which lacks the soft centre that sweetened the taste of their biggest box-ffice hit There's Something about Mary. Their comedic Color of Money with bigger balls is populated by the most irredeemably unpleasant characters, yet we are expected to root for them. Humour-wise, this bowling comedy is a very mixed bag. Woody Harrelson's detachable rubber hand is overused to the point of annoyance, but there are some very funny moments involving Randy Quaid's Forrest Gump-like naivety. As you would expect, Bill Murray's flamboyant villain gains the most laughs.
"...Uproarious....Harrelson and Quaid throw themselves into their cross-country bowling odyssey with unencumbered acting abandon..."

Kingpin tells the story of a washed up bowling star (played by Woody Harrelson) who takes on a new Amish bowling prodigy (played by Randy Quaid) and tries to coach him to world series glory against his old rival (played by Bill Murray). Along the way, they pick up the battered girlfriend of a sleazy gangster and eventually end up at the world series.
There are so many stand out moments in this movie that are too numerous to mention and all the actors are on fine form, especially Bill Murray and his ridiculous hair. This is a must see if you like a good laugh. Don't be put off by the fact that the Farrelly Brothers directed it, this is their best to date.
"Kingpin" is the story of a star bowler who lost a hand (Woody Harrelson) and became a hustler, barely scraping by. He comes across an Amish kid (Randy Quaid) with an arm of gold and exploits him for everything he can get.
They hit the road for a million-dollar contest in Reno and meet up with The Bimbo (Vanessa Angel) and the Arch Rival (Bill Murray).
My recommendation: Sneak into the last 20 minutes, the bowling climax in Reno, for the funniest part -- the battle of the absurdly over-the-top comb-overs between Harrelson and Murray. So funny it hurts.
If you have a bit of a fobia of sick I wouldn't bother with this film, I turned it off half way through. Didn't like this film at all. However, my other half thought it was brilliant and very funny he watched all the way through.
i just rented this and watched it with a load of friends and we all thought it was hilarious (no alcohol was involved)
i am definitely buying this....right now
the comedy ive seen in ages
Some parts of this had me howling but others fell a bit flat (watching people fall over etc). Worth watching however as Woody H is superb as usual.

This is a good film by the same people behind Me Myself and Irene, Dumb and Dumber and Something about Mary. These are all vey good.
great film loved it, good story line, comical through out, mild mannerd also..
on the lines of dumb and dummer.

Probably my favourite comedy... love it... its slightly more silly then the kind of comedy id normally go for, but its pulled off well... My friend was not up for watching this at all, but was in stitches nearly the whole way through... well worth watching!
This is a classic, if you do not find this film funny then you have no sense of humour, it's that simple. Billy Murray makes an excellent performance as Ernie, this is an absolute must.
Woody Harrelson is great in this - but Randy Quaid steals it. Some very funny scenes and some great lines. A strange blackish comedy but worth giving a go.
