  • Terrible!

Even taking into account the times in which this was made (during the war), this is a miserable plot about a bitter and twisted man (Cary Grant in his most unpleasant role) who doesn't have any redeeming qualities. It's old fashioned in its language, attitudes and story, and, to be truthful, I didn't manage to see it through to the end. Basically, I didn't care what happened to him, or whether his romance with a woman who had no qualms about 2 timimg her fiance was successful or not. They deserved one another.

I normally like Cary Grant but this was so disappointing...and Jayne Mansfield completely ruined it for me. Wasn't even funny.

This movie was a real disappointment. Jayne Mansfield was just too dumb and it wasn't funny or kitsch, just a shame as she was really a very intelligent lady. The movie was boring and I fell asleep.

  • Jayne Mansfield Highlights.

This film was only worth watching for the scenes with the lovely Jayne Mansfield in. Jayne looked fantastic in this film. But then again im biased being a big J.M fan. At the time this film was released in 1957 Jayne was blamed for the failure of the film at the box office and branded 'box office poison'. I dont know why as i found cary grant and suzy parker to be deadly dull in it.
