Most helpful review
Klimt
By a customer from London , 06 Feb 2008[Highly rated reviewer]
I like John Malkovich as an actor, and had hopes for this film despite the poor reviews. Disappointingly, I found the film lacking in direction, with poor character development and a surreal, confusing plot line. I turned off after 20 minutes.- Was this review helpful to you?

Gorgeous symbolist delirium
By Doug1964 (15 reviews) from Edinburgh , 15 Feb 2011Klimt, dying of syphilis, sees his life flash before him in a series of lavishly filmed hallucinations. As beautiful as his paintings, and with about as much in the way of straightforward narrative. But, if you have an open mind and passing knowledge of the artist and his era - or can find the time to read his Wikipedia article - crack open a bottle and wallow.Very much in the tradition of Ken Russell's composer biopics, and definitely not for everybody. Copious nudity, decadent kinkiness and fabulous, outrageous imagery throughout. Enjoy!- Was this review helpful to you?

Dissapointing
By kinkiwizard (2 reviews) from Bellshill , 15 Jan 2010Watched about 20 mins off this and laughed more than anythiing else, every five mins john malkovic storms out of shot ' i need some wine' im off to vomit'. Wouldnt reccomend it really. The sound is reaalllly bad, and the whole film looks like it was filmed in the 70's. No real insight into Klimts life, just a mental period before he gets flung in a mental institute. Dissapointing. Avoid.- Was this review helpful to you?

Klimt -don't bother....
By fhiona from scotland , 18 May 2009renting this movie...it's the weirdest thing I've seen and not at all entertaining :0((
Very incoherent and incomprehensible. Explains very little of anything about Klimt's life as the artist.- Was this review helpful to you?
