Heigl helps save Christmas Chihuahuas

Actress Katherine Heigl has given 25 Chihuahuas a special early Christmas gift - their lives. The pooches, all strays, were due to be put to sleep when the Knocked Up star learned of their plight and helped find them a new home. According to People magazine, Heigl and her mother's Jason Debus Heigl Foundation donated £15,625 so the pets could be flown from Los Angeles to their new families in Boston, Massachusetts. Funnyman Seth Rogen has taken aim at his Knocked Up co-star Katherine Heigl over her suggestions the pregnancy comedy was a little sexist. Rogen and Knocked Up director Judd Apatow have never commented about Heigl's Vanity Fair comments in 2007 - until now, and it seems clear neither will work with the Grey's Anatomy star again. Funnyman Seth Rogen was left reeling after accidentally breaking a stuntman's nose in his new movie. The summer's biggest sleeper hit in the US, Knocked Up arrives trailing rave word of mouth and the highest expectations. It's not a perfect film, by any means, but yes, this one lives up to the hype. It's regularly laugh-out-loud funny, and should do for Seth Rogen what writer-director Judd Apatow's The 40-Year-Old Virgin did for Steve Carell. US sleeper hit of the summer Knocked Up has hit the box office chart on this side of the pond but has not managed to push Jason Bourne from the number one spot just yet.
