Most helpful review
Not quite as advertised...
By Richard from Kingston , 12 Jul 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
Well you all know Alan Partridge so I won't review the DVD.
This is just information to say that the disc I received did not include the 'Knowing Me Knowing YULE' Christmas special.
It is in fact the six episodes from the main series and is labelled as 'Disc 1'. I think 'Knowing Me Knowing Yule' was probably on Disc 2 of the series which doesn't seem to be available.
I've mentioned this to Screen Select so if you see two discs available for this series it means they've corrected the problem.
In the meantime if you rent this disc you'll still get the better part of the deal with 6 episodes of classic chat.- Was this review helpful to you?

(29)Aha! What a Comic Masterpiece
By Seedyvee (183 reviews) from Grantham , 28 Aug 2011I watched these six episodes end to end without the slightest experience of ennui: such is the inexhaustive creative genius of Steve Coogan and his equally talented cast. Coogan takes humour into places where others would not dare to cast off their dignity and pride. A consistently obnoxious yet fascinating character is ever portrayed and such subtle manipulation of words, meanings and their social conotations have created a classic comic masterpiece.- Was this review helpful to you?

Side splitting
By KezP (3 reviews) from Ely , 30 Jul 2009Alan Partridge can make most laugh and others cringe.
He made me and my boyfriend cry with laughter (as well as cringe!) and I think everyone with a cringeworthy sense of humour should watch this!- Was this review helpful to you?

Hysterical, one of the true great comedies
By Yesiamaduck (13 reviews) from Brighton , 22 Mar 2009They just dont write comedy like this anymore, this spoof chatshow was and always will be incredible, every episode is filled to the brim with memorable scenes, the finale of the series is absaloutly hysterical. And lets not other classic scenes such as the Abba melody duet on episode 3, brilliant supporting cast playing a diverse roles and Alan as usual plays the guy we love the hate. A must for fans of 'I'm Alan Partridge'- Was this review helpful to you?
