A big hit in its homeland, Koma is a twisted tale which remains surprisingly effective sometime after the credits roll.
There's enough tension in the opening act to keep the biggest of Eastern horror fans happy and the twisty nature of the final act becomes more and more appealing on repeat viewing.
But it's the performances of the two leads which makes Koma the satisfying night in that it so clearly is, both girls seem to be having an alarming amount of fun with the script and it's clear to see why both girls are so hugely popular in The East.
For us Westerners though, Koma is a very entertaining film which moves at a fast pace and keeps the shocks, twists and scares coming. The ending may never be in doubt but Koma is delivered with style to spare and it's hard not to enjoy it just a little.
A return to form for Tartan then, Koma should keep you awake in to the early hours.
