Vijay Varma (Akshaye Khanna), a college student is smitten by a fellow student, Madhu (Urmila Matondkar). Vijay’s grandfather Sadanand Sharma (Kadar Khan) advises him on how to woo his woman. Fed up of his advances, Madhu complains to her father Sukhram (Paresh Rawal). Sukhram goes to confront Vijay but comes back full of praise for him. He convinces Madhu that Vijay is an honest and caring man and a good choice. On the eve of the wedding however, Sukhram changes his mind and insults Vijay and his family before throwing them out the door….
