Christian Slater stars in Kuffs as 21-year-old George, a high school dropout with his own ideas of how to achieve the American Dream. George Kuffs is too smart to stand still and too determined to quit, yet when his girlfriend (Milla Jovovich) asks for the one thing George fears most, commitment, he hits the road. But then George's older brother Brad (Bruce Boxleitner), a respected San Francisco Patrol Special owner, is gunned down in the line of duty and George inherits the business. Against the police chief's explicit orders, George decides that he is going to catch Brad's killers. He is assigned a partner, a cop named Ted Bukovsky (Tony Goldwyn), but the last thing George needs is the police department getting in the way of his investigation.

pretty average
Posibly only for slater fans, its vry patchy, with only the fact that slater excels at talking to the camera.
Is Kevin Costner a good guy? If the script is strong enough (in Bull Durham for instance) he's a credible hero. But he can be even more effective letting that question hang in the air - as he did in Clint Eastwood's A Perfect World. Now that the shine has gone off his looks, there's something about his flat, monotonous voice… he's seems so ordinary it's almost creepy.
