Hit animated film Kung Fu Panda is making the transition to the small screen - the movie is to be adapted into a TV series. Animated hit Kung Fu Panda was the toast of the 36th annual Annie Awards on Friday (30Jan09) night - triumphing in 10 categories. Kung Fu Panda sequel on way

A sequel to the animated comedy Kung Fu Panda has been given the green light for a June 2011 release. Jack Black will return to voice the lead character in the follow-up, as will Angelina Jolie, according to Variety. Animated comedy Kung Fu Panda reached number one at the US box office, being the third-highest opening ever for a digital animation. The main characters in the film are voiced by Hollywood stars Jack Black and Angelina Jolie, which has raked in $60 million (£30.4 million) in its first weekend on release.
