The Panda done good
By citizenk (60 reviews) from London , 22 Jun 2008[Highly rated reviewer]
After a slew of substandard, totally anonymous,computer-animated duds,I have to confess that I didn't high hopes for this. But against all the odds this might well turn out to be one of the
best films in any genre you're likely to see this summer. Telling a very simple story, very skillfully it is a joy from start to end.Basically,a fat Panda (voiced by Jack Black in his best role to date)who works in his fathers noodle bar in ancient China dreams of being a Kung Fu master. After making a fool of himself trying to enter a Kung Fu tournament in his village,he is spotted by a priest who is convinced the Panda is destined to be a Kung Fu master. The film looks excellant, the martial arts fights reminded me of 'Crouching Tiger',the voices are perfect
especially Black, himself and Dustin Hoffman as a world weary Kung Fu master. The animation
is as good as anything Pixar have done, and for once a computer animated film is not trying to be all self-knowing and post-modern.- Was this review helpful to you?

By Kaydee (21 reviews) , 14 Apr 2013I really liked Kung Fu Panda. (P. S. I'm way past childrens age!) It is just something to chill out to and to forget everything. It's funny and enjoyable with a nice storyline.- Was this review helpful to you?

Gentle, well done entertainment
By a customer , 20 Jul 2012Very detailed and good technical animation - things have come a long way in this respect in the past few years
Storyline is average but some of the dialogue is witty without being funny.
My only minor concern is that there are no 'in' jokes that target the adult audience - everything is aimed at children as an adventure/goodie-versus-baddie film but that fact should not be seen as a distraction from watching it.
Liked the way that several animal types can be kung fu experts (a cricket? a snake?)- Was this review helpful to you?

Lovely animation. Very funny.
By a customer , 03 Apr 2012I wish I'd seen it when it first came out, I loved it! I especially liked the old wise tortoise and Po's Dad. Jack Black is great as the voice of Po.- Was this review helpful to you?

an ok film with some good bits
By cheesekake (1282 reviews) from uk , 17 Mar 2012this film's ok, but defo not the best animation one I've seen. I mean the animation was good but the storyline was a little silly, but maybe that's cause I'm not into Kung Fu I don't know.
I'm sure the family will enjoy it tho- Was this review helpful to you?
