Honestly girls, this is so worth it. i have never been so enthralled in a dvd series before. its not just that its a lesbian drama, its actually really good as well. I love Jennifer Beales in it, what a hottie
I loved season 1, but season 2 is just amazing, i too very much look forward to the 3rd season!
I totally recommend this show its great! and a totaly addictive!
I cant wait to own this season on DVD!!!
i was bored one evening and flicked around on the tv, and came across living tv, which was showing a steamy sex scene, i was interested and kept watching. to my surprise i kept watching, im a gay man and dont find the sex scenes interesting, but as a viewer of fantastic tv, i was gripped, the acting, the story, the sex, it was just like watching queer as folk with women, how rude. i have now watched all three seasons twice and still find this program fresh and gripping. long may it continue.
As a guy I didnt think this would be for me. Oh how wrong can you be? The acting is great, storylines and dialogue riveting. What an insight into female relationships, I thought my experience of the opposite sex was good, this series sent me back to school on the subject, it certainly opened my eyes. I believe that the sex scenes have been cut from the original series, which is a shame because they are very erotic without being pornographic but leaving you wanting more.
Roll on series 3
I watched the whole thing on Living. It's great - actually better than the First series. I can't wait for the third series which I believe will be making its way to us in the UK next summer! It's great to at last see a lesbian drama that reflects real life and has created personalities everyone of any sexual orientation can love.

Fake and unrealistic if you know a bit about the lesbian scene. They are all beautiful and rich but the story lines are quite genuine.
Hmmm... I just love Tina and Bette, what a beautiful couple.
I adore the L word but, a word of warning, having all ready seen it on Sky tv the sex scenes it the dvds are cut (sometimes alot). Which is ok if you like them tame! Unfortunatly, having seen the original these dvd's dont really cut it for me!
The second season is a lot darker than the first and has less 'action', but the storylines are so much more interesting and the writers are beginning to explore the characters in more depth. The first season was all about introductions and it was hard to go into any depth because it's such a large cast, but in season 2 we start to learn more about their pasts, in particular Jenny's. Although her 'flashbacks' are not exactly well-loved amoung loyal L fans, season 2 really explores exactly what it is that shapes her, and her fellow characters. As always, there's a great mix of drama, romance and comedy, and season 2 develops each character's story, including Bette and Tina, trying to recover their relationship after Bette's affair, and the Tonya/Dana/Alice love triangle.
It's very different from season one, but season 2 offers so much more depth and detail that it's not one to miss, if you're a fan of this amazing show.
After being really excited about catching the second season after such a great first one, I was slightly dismayed to find such a trite beginning to this season. The new opening titles and theme music/song not withstanding (which are seriously tacky! - and not in a good way!) - season two is more fluff than substance. However, there are some very interesting themes explored, and very well handled too; but these are very much 'diamonds in the... fluff' - so-to-speak. I do hope season three manages to achieve a similar level of depth and integrity as was captured in season one.
So in conclusion, I guess I'd have to say season two was not exactly bad, but not exactly great either.
