Make sure you order both discs of the film otherwise you will be able to see only half the movie. Other than that this movie was fantastic!- Was this review helpful to you?

(9)Worst war movie
By RH from Essex, UK , 12 Jul 2006A blatant piece of national propaganda which is made worse by being an awful movie to watch. I would be very surprised if this film was NOT endorsed by the Indian Ministry of Information!
I am neither Indian nor Pakistani so I started watching this movie generally more neutral than most other reviewers on this page. Many big-name actors are introduced in the initial build-up scenes - this takes nearly a whole hour. When the action does start, the battle sequences are poor with very little suspense on offer and the special effects are nothing special.
Even though its factbased, this film will completely lose non-Indian audiences in the first 10 minutes purely because it is made very clear that there are no Pakistani characters included. Therefore the whole value of the production is lost. However gung-ho a war movie is, if it doesn't show a wide range of battlefield characters, the plotline will never engage the audience. Bollywood could learn many lessons on how to produce a fact-based war-movie from 'A Bridge Too Far' which retells the WWII story of Operation Market Garden.
The question now is: can Bollywood make a war movie which isn't an advert for the Indian Armed Forces?. The Americans have generally done this genre very well in the past - and it will be interesting to see if Bollywood can develop this line of work differently in the future.
I love war movies but this is film not worth 4 hours of my time. If you still do want to spend 4 hours watching Indian infantry fighting an invisible and voice-less enemy, then go-ahead and watch!- Was this review helpful to you?

Tunnel vision story line
By a customer from Bedford, England , 30 Apr 2006'factually very correct' yeah right only if your an Indian, a story much like a coin has more then one side to it. See this film only as escapism from reality much like dancing around trees.- Was this review helpful to you?

nice documentary
By a customer from Nottingham,England , 03 Feb 2006The film is factually very correct, hence giving the viewer a rather realistic picture. But it could have explained more the strategic part of the whole scenario.- Was this review helpful to you?
