This is a performance that meets the Glyndebourne gold standard... Hall has decided to keep it real and produced something understated, sensitive and thus deeply pleasurable.
Opera-goers found themselves captivated by one of the best nights Glyndebourne has enjoyed in many a year
The second part of the production continued the splendid standard. I very much enjoyed it
A wonderful production of a version of the Cinderella story that has little of the fairy tale about it. Rossini's choruses are as thrilling as you'd expect them to be and are performed with precision as well as bounce. The libretto surprised me with its intelligence and the scope for 'reflection' it gives to one of the secondary characters, the Prince's valet. All the roles are sung and acted well. There is little to criticise here.
Very enjoyable.
