A good portrayal of the gradual disintegration of a man because his relationship ( that has born a child ) is failng. The Auteil and Huppert characters are married in all but name. It's unrealistic, even given the french temperament !, for a woman to tell her partner that she's having an affair but that he must carry on as if nothing had changed. Similarly, no man would put up with such insolence and, far from continual debating of the schism, he would surely chuck her out into the street, closely followed by her overnight bag and her tooth-brush. Still, an enjoyable film of some quality.
