Traviata is infamous for the unlikely death, from consumption, of a rather rotund soprano - so I'm glad to report that this version features a sylph-like soprano who gives a very moving and convincing performance. The 'Gran dio, morir si giovine' is particularly powerful. The soloists are generally excellent (though Germont pere's haircut is rather odd!), chorus is OK though sometimes a bit stilted in some of the crowd scenes. But overall, an excellent, moving portrayal of a superb opera.
