The only original feature-film storyline devised by Disney in the 1950s, this was the studio's first venture into CinemaScope and remains one of its most enduring favourites. Ending a sequence of fairy-tale adaptations, it returned to the animal world of Dumbo and Bambi to create a cast of charming creatures, headed by a pampered cocker spaniel called Lady and a spaghetti-munching mongrel called Tramp. In addition to voicing Lady's mistress and Siamese cats Si and Am, Peggy Lee also co-composed the unforgettable songs (with Sonny Burke), which were mystifyingly overlooked by Oscar. A joy for children and romantics alike.

A must for any Disney Fan

I love this film as it has everything. My oldest daughter has watched it many a time and has now handed it down to her baby sister to watch and enjoy. It is a typical love story with a happy ending. And the main characters are so lovable. I still don't like Siamese Cats and I am sure it comes from watching this film when I was a kid. If you like Disney you have to watch this film. The older films are really quite nice and so are the storylines it is definately worth watching.

Just a cute little bundle... of trouble

If this film isn't a classic, I don't know what is! This is a great story about two dogs who fall in love, although they're from different sides of the railroad tracks, so to speak. These dogs act more human than many humans do. It's heartwarming, humorous and just plain clean family entertainment! This is a film that has stood the test of time and passed with flying colors.
