Lady In The Water
Kindly caretaker Cleveland Heep (Paul Giamatti, SIDEWAYS) discovers an elfin creature named Story (Bryce Dallas Howard, THE VILLAGE) living in the swimming pool of the apartment complex where he works. It soon becomes apparent to Cleveland that Story is not of this world, and that her mission to deliver a message to mankind is fraught with danger. The stuttering caretaker tries valiantly to protect her so that she may have safe passage back to the Blue World from whence she came. Suspension of disbelief is mandatory in this beautifully realised modern day fable, directed by master of suspense M. Night Shyamalan, who puts his own unique spin on the conventions of the traditional fairy tale.

WASTE OF TIME
No plot, no decent actors, no nothing, what a waste of a sunday afternoon. I wish we had thrown this dvd in the water....

Thoughtful Little Story
I just don't get it. No not the film I get that. I just do not understand why some critics disliked it so. Maybe the trailers gave it a false promise. Maybe they didn't like the lack of clever ending.
Anyway the point is this is a thoughful fairy story that has acting that is both believable at at times moving. If you suspend your adult mode and believe the something at the bottom of the garden idea then you will be delighted. Not a film that will make you ponder the meaning of life just a film that will make you ponder what today was all about. -
