An overall a good film with an interesting, if somewhat convoluted and occasionally gratuitously silly, plot. I'm not sure what genre I would classify this as, perhaps just Shyamalanian Fantasy.

The performances of Shyamalan himself and Bryce Dallas Howard are especially good, despite some opinions, bringing this up from a mediocre film to something with emotion and a bit of bite. I initially questioned Paul Giamatti as lead, but his display of humility and emotion changed my mind, helped a little by James Newton Howard's score, which was excellent in itself. and proved that Shyamalan and Howard is an excellent combination.

To be honest, without this cast, it very well may have flopped. Watch this film, then maybe buy it, but don't expect another Signs.

I'm a 20 year old student, so how do you expect me to spend my spare time? That's right - watching films. I don't get to the cinema much, but my collection of 300+ films does me alright. I'm always looking for something good to watch, but don't always find it.
