By a customer , 29 Apr 2012great message delivered in a very entertaining way.
acting is surprisingly good.
with bollywood movies i expect a number of cringeworthy moments but surprisingly did not find it with this movie.
a touch sentimental but hilarious at the same time.
songs are also good
best thing is there were only one cheesy dance routine- Was this review helpful to you?

Such a lovely film
By dumbolives (269 reviews) from Shetland , 06 Oct 2010I don't like the actor who plays the main character in this so I was a bit reluctant to watch it but the story is so charming and thoughtful that it really could have been anyone in that role and I still would have loved it. The plot is simple and the message clear, the supporting cast is funny and helps move the story along. It makes you think about the way you behave and thats probably a good thing!- Was this review helpful to you?

A perfect blend of comedy and sentiment
By Sarahblue (28 reviews) from Norwich, England , 25 Jul 2010ThMunna (Sanjay Dutt), small time crook and enforcer for a property developer, is in love with the voice of Jhanvi (Vidya Balan) on the radio. So when a competition on Ghandi, with first prize a visit to the radio station, is announced, he and sidekick Circuit (inveterate scene stealer Arshad Warsi) cheat to ensure he wins. In an effort to carry on the deceit, Munna studies at the Ghandi library until, hazy through lack of sleep, he begins to see and talk with the ghost of the great man himself. While Munna promotes Ghandiism to impress his love, his dishonest boss is plotting to steal the home she shares with her grandfather and his old friends. Soon, Munna has to rely on the spirit of Ghandi to redeem his boss, save the house and regain his love.
This is a true feel-good film, bathed in sunshine, with bright primary colours and maximum use of the Mumbai seafront. The songs are brilliantly catchy and the subtitles top-quality. Watching two not too bright crooks struggle to embrace the principles of truth and non-violence is hilarious, and Vidya Balan plays the straight man, ok woman, to their comedy duo with both grace and charm. The film touches gently on serious subjects without ever being preachy and, even at the end, leaves you to choose whether Munna is suffering from delusions or genuinely communicating with Ghandi.
If you watch this film, I guarantee you'll come away with a smile on your face.- Was this review helpful to you?

A Bollywood winner
By Pritt30 (38 reviews) from Stockton on Tees , 31 Jul 2009Lage Raho Munnabhai 2006 is a Bollywood winner. The casting, storyline and settings are main selling points of the movie and what makes the movie a real hit. Bollywood has combined modern elements with historical events of the country in such a way, that makes this movie original. Brilliant stuff from Bollywood.- Was this review helpful to you?
