Interesting & very sadBy Paul Shears from England , 22 Mar 2008
[Highly rated reviewer]I found this interesting because Mr Lagerfield's life has been so different from the norm. There would be no merit in a similar piece of work however.
Like most of us, his working life is devoid of merit but he has pursued a pointless occupation and got paid exceptionally well for it. Additionally, from the evidence portrayed, his input into the work that he takes credit for appears minimal.

Lager lager lager lager lager lagerBy Debdor (48 reviews) from Wotton-Under-Edge , 05 Mar 2010I loved loved loved this! All I knew about Karl Lagerfield was he was the eccentric guy with a pony tail, who designed for Chanel. I put it on my list because Princess Carloline of Monaco was in the credits, and I am fascinated by her (although blink and you miss her in this ).
I am going to buy it today! Karl is so watchable, he is fun, intelligent, self depracating, outrageous and a mass of contradictions. His life is crammed to the gills, with things ( I was gobsmacked at how much free stuff he seems to acrue - Chanel bags everywhere!) and travel and work and parties and the beautiful people. And yet when he was in NY he posed with passers by for photos, no problem.
Some of the best bits are in the extra's, my favourite is when he has to dry his own seat on a wet golf buggy, he is so funny....
Lagerfeld ConfidentialBy einnobbb (1 review) from england , 12 Mar 2009An insightful and exciting piece of film for lovers of fashion and Karl Lagerfeld.
When I watched it, I was absolutely thrilled throughout the entire film, and I was never disappointed.
Lagerfeld has a surprising character (for me, anyway), opposing to what he comes across through photos.
A very good documentary.
Painful but somehow watchableBy a customer from London , 17 Jan 2009This documentary is pretty dire, nevertheless I did watch the entire film.
Enter KL's self-obsessed world which was disappointingly devoid of high-end glamour - Nicole Kidman certainly saved the day.
DisappointingBy a customer from London , 26 Dec 2008Karl Lagerfeld is without any doubt a fascinating character, unfortunatly there is nothing fascinating to see or learn with this documentary.
I would advice anybody to watch the brillant documentary 'Signe Chanel' instead. The focus is not only on Karl Lagerfeld, but on the whole Chanel house during the production of one of the Haute Couture collection.
You might also want to watch the documentary 'Marc Jacobs And Louis Vuitton'.
Fashionista HeavenBy a customer from London , 17 Nov 2008I really liked this, though I agree with another reviewer who said it was too arty and over-long. My husband went to bed half way through, and it's the kind of thing he usually loves, but I gamely watched to the end. It was a portrayal of a man with a frosty exterior but with humour and warmth underneath. I particularly loved when he talked about his mother - I'd like a whole documentary on her! Worthwhile if you want a behind the scenes glimpse of the high-end fashion biz, otherwise you'll definitely nod off.
