    [Highly rated reviewer]

shocking from the word go, the main character is an absolute retard who you want to see die a very painful death to at least get some of your moneys worth. we were well exited about watching this film as we thought it sounded like a different horror film to many of the others out there (we thought the storyline sounded exiting and well thought up) but it turned out to be an utter shambles and mess of a film, we spent 99% of the time yelling at the screen as we were sure something good would happen somewhere in it but it just didnt, there were absolutely no jumpy bits that can make a horror film really scary, the acting and overall cast were diabolical.

bottom line: we wish we were the ones laid to rest by the end of it

If you truly hate someone and want them to have a very unpleasant experience then instead of water torture try this. The acting was diabolical and i'd say the story was horrendous but it had no story. The only plus to this sorry excuse was the effects. I was genuinley impressed by the old school blood & gore.

A bizarre, refreshing concoction, that describes Laid To Rest.

A disturbing combination of David Lynch and Adam Green, Laid To Rest is the first part in a proposed trilogy, Chromeskull - Laid To Rest 2 is already to be unleashed onto an unsuspecting world and I for one am looking forward to this installment, considering how successful I found the first part.

There is little explanation to proceedings to begin with, information is drip fed to both the characters on screen and to the audience simultaneously.

The story is fairly complex, concerning a mysterious masked killer, whose main agenda is the murder of young women, predominantly, but who has a cruel habit of prolonging their suffering for his own ghoulish pleasure.

The acting is actually, very, very good, with some recognisable faces throughout and an intelligent, and in places, funny script.

The film really comes into it's own however, when it comes to the special effects, hands down, this is one of the most disturbing films, i relation to gore, I have seen for sometime.

The attention to detail, actually belies the film, which by all accounts, was fairly low budget, but the effects are superb, disturbingly so.

To reveal more about the plot would be to ruin a cult classic that should be sought out and enjoyed for what it is, a film, that like it's killer, is a non-stop juggernaut of thrills and kills.

    Superb.

Well, if its slasher films you like?. Then this is defo for you. This is a great film with some of the best cgi gore I've seen . Dont get me wrong the film does have a low budget feel about it, but for me thats what i look for in a film. So if your put off by crap acting, stay away, but if your prepared to overlook this, then I highly recommend you watch this great slasher flick......Enjoy
