I usually don't think much of horror sequel's, but this one is far better than number one.
The first Lake Placid was quite a few years ago and it shows as the special effects in the sequel are far better, plus the film has a very good storyline to it, carrying on from the original film.
A very good watch!
I don't normally review films, but this one wound me up too much to stay silent on.
First of all, I love cheesy monster-munching flicks and really enjoyed the original Lake Placid. Now we get to Lake Placid 2...
The only thing worse that the acting and the awful, stilted dialogue was the CGI crocodiles! There was truly nothing original about this film. It conformed to every horror movie cliche and you could tell who was going to survive after the first ten minutes.
It even went as far as to try and copy the original, but whereas the first film was witty and entertaining, rather than scary, this one failed on all counts.
This film is not scary. This film is not funny. This film is not well acted or original. It is however possibly the worst horror sequel since Day of the Dead 2 : Continuam.
Rent Lake Placid ONE - it's a laugh. Rent this one and start trying to invent a time machine to get your wasted hour and a half back.
If you haven't seen the first Lake Placid, then watch the first one. If you have seen the first Lake Placid, just watch it again. This is rubbish, God knows how it was allowed to be made! The first one is brilliant and I waited in great, if misguided, anticipation for a sequal worthy of the name Lake Placid. This is the worst of bog standard low budget horror movies, offering nothing but cheap, woefully poor effects and I switched it off half way through. Even though it was clear from the outset that it had nothing to offer and it was a miracle that I watched it that long.

Do not do it, the first film was good. This was dreadfull. The sfx and cgis were corny. The acting was poor and the script was cheesy and unorigional. Do not watch this contrived trash.Save your time for Black Water.
Without going into too much detail, this is the crappest film that i have EVER seen and believe me, I've seen a lot of crap movies but this is the crappest. Its an insult to the first movie.
This movie has it all - crap acting, animated crocodiles, animated helicopters and is an insult to watch. If anyone enjoyed this, then there is something wrong with them !!!!!
Laughable. I liked the first one, but this one was absolute rubbish.
I felt myself sympathising with the crocodile. The acting was so poor they deserved to be eaten. The CGIs looked like someone had drawn on the screen with some crayola crayons. I could have done a better job with a sock-puppet, a pond and a script from the early learning centre. I half expected the croc to go 'tick tock'
Only watch it if you want to take the proverbial.
crap acting, crap plot, crap effects, blah blah ect ect
Oh dear!
This really is awful. The acting it is poor and for the technology available in 2007 the special effects are some of the worst I've seen. Ever!
Please don't rent this, you'll only be disappointed.
Watch the original Lake Placid instead.
thought this film was quite good, not as good as the first but still enjoyed it.....
More crocs, more CGI,more silly plots, more small town hicks being devoured, more gratuitous scenes of topless women...got your attention now?!!
Seriously,I didn't even know they had made a sequel until I was searching around recently to buy the original and saw it advertised. The first one isn't a classic but it is good gory fun. This one has its moments too,but the crocs are a bit too CGI for my liking. But then pretty much all special fx are like that nowadays.
If you saw the first film, you know what to expect and that is pretty much what you'll get.It is laugh out loud ludicrous at times but over all,it's an enjoyable no brainer.
