  • TRAGIC - DESERVES NO STARS AT ALL

This film is well stocked with hammy set pieces, mainly of cars flying through the air.

The plot is dreadful, the direction is dreadful, the score is dreadful and Bill Shatner is magnificently dreadful.

The sound/vision lag puts the whole sorry production into a hand basket headed straight to Noodoo Land.

It's rated 18 but it should be rated IEEEEEEEE!

Unwatchable due to the quality of the film; the words are out of sync, started it switched it off.

  • Supremely dreadful

This is bad in an epic 'Plan 9 From Outer Space' sort of way. Firstly it is badly put together at a basic technical level. The sound and video are completely out of synch with each other so lip movements don't match speech and gunshots ring out a moment before the trigger is pulled, that sort of thing.

That's bad enough, but the plot and writing are gloriously bad. Shatner plays a megalomaniac millionaire politician building a private army for unspecified evil purposes. The hero of the film is Shatner's campaign manager who discovers that Shatner is evil and has to fight for his family's life against Evil Shatner's henchmen. For reasons which are never explained, this political campaign manager has amazing kung-fu skills - sort of a cross between Peter Mandelson and Jackie Chan. Lots of cars roll over, fly through the air and crash into one another at the slightest provocation. There are some gratuitous breasts. All of Evil Shatner's henchmen (presumably the hand-picked elite of his private army) are unable to shoot straight, while the political campaign manager picks them off by shooting from the hip while running. After a very silly sequence involving an exploding house and an exploding helicopter, the hero drowns Evil Shatner in a pond and lives happily ever after.

Due to a lack of synchronisation between audio and video it was impossible to watch this dvd, therefore I can't write a review as I gave up after 5 minutes (yes, I did wind it on to check but the problem is still there.
