LOVEFiLM Review

By Tom Charity from LOVEFiLM
Stripped back with hardly any dialogue, Pablo Giorgelli's gentle drama is the art of simplicity at its best...

A truly lovely film

This is a lovely, poetic and thoughtful film that follows a long journey by truck across Argentina. The dialogue is sparse and the story is unfolded by the eloquent use of camera shots and the subtle suggestion of mood change between the protagonists. The characters reveal themselves as the journey progresses and the final scenes are quietly joyful as the nature of kindness and humanity is gently explored. A film that is about very little but somehow explores what it is to be human and vulnerable.- Was this review helpful to you?

one to watch, really watch
By a customer , 07 Mar 2013A gentle warm film that you really have to watch, i. e. there's so little dialogue that you need to follow the non-verbal communication like a hawk to understand the story that's emerging. Its a joy to spot the subtle shifts between the character's attitudes to each other that lead to an unexpected end.- Was this review helpful to you?

Compelling movie
By Abicon (5 reviews) , 16 Feb 2013This is a superb film, steady and deep. No annoying music, the rumble of the truck is the backdrop. I's a love story but you can hardly detect that and find yourself wanting the characters to give more of themselves to each other. The baby should get an Oscar!- Was this review helpful to you?

Worth it but don't expect fast moving action
By Fav (6 reviews) , 11 Feb 2013A slow moving movie that was absorbing. Really enjoyed the style and tempo - something about this reminded me of a movie from a few decades ago. Worth watching but don't expect lots of fast moving action!- Was this review helpful to you?

81 minutes too long
By Chepstow1 (2 reviews) , 02 Feb 2013The transition in Ruben's steely outlook, and Jacinta's dawning realisation that there is a generous spirit deep under his shell, are documented in minute detail and subtle nuance. Unfortunately the director chose to pad out this simple observation over 90 minutes instead of the 9 it deserved. We watched the last half at 6x speed. Don't bother renting.- Was this review helpful to you?
