  • Abrupt ending that spoiled the whole film....

This film seemed pretty pointless to me and the abrupt ending certainly confirmed this for me. The acting felt pretty staged throughout and at times I hoped that the story would take me somewhere more challenging and interesting but it never quite managed to do that. Couples in relationships being tempted to have affairs has now become so cliched that to have mastered this subject in this film more thought and depth should have gone into character and plot development to be able to have given the viewer a more satisfying experience.Overall a very disappointing film.

Awful. Very dull and non-eventful. The only thing worse than the script was the actors' table manners. The ending was ok but not good enough to save the film.

Date Night begins as a film with several stylistic flourishes, suggestive angles and a general tense setting to outline the two protagonists clearly troubled relationship. From this point onwards the unconscious game of cat and mouth both plays out with one another and bores in equal measure. The film ultimately turns out to be a contrast of who or who won't go the farthest, which in itself is dull and makes the viewer yearn to watch closer.

i love this film for me it shows how a film does not need to have explosions or adventures to be amazing. This one was so real and really looks into unfaithfulness and what it worse; physical or emotional betrayal, the sudden end leads you wanting and making conclusions for yourself. Keira is as usual amazing in it and you can see how this situation is just tearing her apart, particularly near the end of the film. amazing, amazing performance. 5 stars.

I was unsure if rating this movie two stars or just one and a half. In the end I went for the latter because although it contains some little pieces of good acting there and then, the plot is something seen already many times, the story is poor to the point that it becomes a bit of a struggle to remain interested. At the end of it I felt like this film did not leave anything valuable to my imagination about the topic it aimed to face (betrayal). I'm also disappointed with Keira Knightley bland and so english performance,

I agree with LL (I won't repeat the spoiler) and feel I need to add some balance to these reviews. Yes the ending is abrupt but it is deliberately so. It requires the viewer to think. The film is much like a play - lots of dialogue between the main characters, and other characters are just on the periphery - much like films such as Closer - another great movie that doesn't have a neat tidy ending. I think this is an underrated film and agree that if you like films like Closer, or Lost in Translation you will like this. If on the other hand you like films that wrap things up nicely at the end leaving no room for question or thought, then it is not for you.
