    Last of The Summer Wine

    Like wine, the program improved with age. These episodes are a bit like uncut diamonds. The basic ingredients of success are there. In fact, it is amazing how little the program has changed its ethos over the years. There is a lack of characters compared with the present day series, but all their traits are simply attributed to the characters which are there. Norah Batty is only mentioned by Compo and does not actually appear yet. If you are a fan you will find these episodes a fascinating insight into what comes later.
