Classic Comedy
By a customer from Blackburn, Lancs , 24 Jul 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
This is definately the best era for last of the summer wine. Foggy, Compo & Clegg were a match made in heaven. Add to that the likes of Sid and Wally Batty both long since gone and you have a classic combination.- Was this review helpful to you?

Ageless comedy
By a customer from Cleethorpes, England , 06 Sep 2007You either love it or hate it. Last of the Sumer Wine is a full bodied little number, that has a distinct tast that you either can't get enough of, or have little time for. Personally I love it. It is pointless escapism, with no underlying or secondary plots, just pointless fun. My dream is to retire and be just like these 3 repribates.
This is the golden tmes for the show, when the on screen Chemistry between Compo, Clegg and Foggy shine through on every scene, (unlike some of the shows later attempts to replace Foggy), and without doubt 2 of the shows best episodes are in this box set, with both the delights of Compo in an overlarge frog suit going to the papershop, and foggy going Christmas shopping...in June.
In a word, ageless- Was this review helpful to you?
