oh dear!

I don't know what this is, but it's misleading.
Is it directed by L&H?
It certainly doesn't star eiher Laurel or Hardy!
Apart from a 'this is your life' type thing at the beginning the feature was some strange guy in some poor, unfunny short film or two.
Only for the die hard fan, not for normal folk!

(7)early career
By a customer , 01 May 2013Strictly for movie students and L & H obsessives. This their early career in silent movies and not their prime some years later.- Was this review helpful to you?

Worth viewing, if only for L&H's
By John Shepherd from Manchester, England , 04 Apr 2006The silents films, although they can be funny, are nothing to write home about. Die-hard fans will appreciate them but I gave this 3 stars because the This is Your Life segment makes this worthwhile. The guys don't say much, neither is it very funny. It's just that, let's face it, this is Stan & Ollie being paid a (long overdue) tribute and everyone who appreciates them in any way should see it!- Was this review helpful to you?

No sound!
By rizla from london , 15 Dec 2005Unless you are a diehard L&H fan, this one will not be for you. There is no speech, just subtitles and incidental music ala days gone yore. Most of the episodes dont even feature them together. Next time I'll read the reviews instead of just writing them!!!!- Was this review helpful to you?

NO SOUND!
By a customer from Luton , 20 Aug 2005This was three of the really old ones, when they didn't work together. It was very boring!- Was this review helpful to you?

Good for hardcore fans
By Nick12 from West Midlands , 17 Oct 2004When ordering I was expecting most of the DVD to be in sound. Most of it incidentally is not! However there is an amazing interview on a chat show, towards the end of the duo's careers.
If you are a Laurel and Hardy fan this is a godsend as it is one chance for you to see the real them and see who they were friends with. A gem for anyone who finds them comic genius'.
I gave it 3 just because of the sound issue. The interview however would get 10 were it alone.- Was this review helpful to you?
