A Classic
By Lynn (5 reviews) from Bristol , 02 Aug 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
L&O, the longest US police drama, is a compelling series, which just gets better with time. A decade later, this series is still going strong. The first ever series of this series is a must-see, with the gripping portrayal of dedicated cops and lawyers who must defend the rights of innocents as well as the guilty without prejudice. The casting is good, particularly with a young looking Chris Noth in the role of a NY cop. A fantastic series which should serve well as an introduction to the one of the best police/law dramas around!!- Was this review helpful to you?

(18)Classic and timeless
By a customer from Sleaford , 08 Mar 2011This is brilliant, I`m a massive fan of the current L & O all versions so it was good to go back and see the originals. Its obviously very very dated but thats clearly expected and its good to see how the series has developed. Watching it from the start is definitely the way ahead!!- Was this review helpful to you?

law & order disc 1 season 1
By Greenfingersjake (125 reviews) from Milton Keynes , 14 Oct 2010Every great story needs a place to start and this is no exception. For most of us L&O has become sirnonemus with crime drama on Tv.
Compare it to a great wine perhaps that has matured over time the same can be said about this. As L&O has matured over time bringing in fresh acting talent writers it has always had a scene of realism and truth about it that makes it stand out from other crime dramas.Which also means that any other crime drama that follows always uses this as a template on which it can use Put simply this is pure class- Was this review helpful to you?

Well loved Police/Lawyer Drama
By a customer from Eastbourne, England , 18 Sep 2007I really enjoy this, I like to see how the cases the police investigate are eventually prosecuted and whether or not the criminal gets off. You never know. It can be a little preachy at times but that is a minor flaw.- Was this review helpful to you?
