One of 2012 best movies!By a customer , 18 Sep 2012
[Highly rated reviewer]Well, what can i say about this movie....IT WAS BRILLIANT! The cast are all so talented and play there characters so well! Tom Hardy as big brother Forrest Bondurant was amazing (no surprise there!) I was pleasantly surprised with Shia's performance as youngest brother Jack Bondurant. I feel he really held his own up against such great actors (Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce etc). Altho Jason Clarke gave a good performance as Howard Bondurant, it felt a bit like he was a spare part and the movie was more surrounding Forrest and Jack, would have been nice to see a bit more of him and also Jessica Chastain who plays Maggie Beauford (Forrest's love interest) For me Tom Hardy's performance shone through the most, such a talented actor! Looking forward to its DVD release :)

boring. .By a customer , 21 Nov 2013This is the second time ive tried to watch this film and fallen asleep. . I love gangster films and generally am very interested in films with a historical nature as this. But I feel this is very slow. . And boring. .but has a good cast. . Which I felt a shame that they were part of this very laborious and slow film ..
Bootleg BattleBy Flikks (23 reviews) from Seaton , 18 Nov 2013Yes, this film works really well and youll sit watching it without occasionally checking the clock. The acting gives very convincing characters and its an eye-opener on the times. The film does the happy and sad bit well and has you hoping for the good guys right through. The settings and shots all add to a very well made film.
Great Cast -BrutalBy Loobu-lu (4 reviews) , 18 Nov 2013I found this film a little slow and the quiet mumbled dialogue was hard work at times. The cast is brilliant though -although Guy Pearce is rather OTT. Beautiful to watch but rather gruesome in some places -not entirely suitable for a cosy night in with the girlfriend. I have to say though I found it interesting to get to know these brothers stories.
Just another prohibition film ...By a customer , 16 Nov 2013No, actually it's pretty good. Guy Pierce may be a little (!) OTT, but Tom Hardy and SLB are both excellent and the story carries a good line - and they can handle an ending properly!
Prohibition from the other side!By Liskaman (2 reviews) , 14 Nov 2013Really enjoyed the story and the characters. Excellent representation of the living conditions in the 20's. The showdown at the end was a bit weak but it was based on a true story. In this case the dvd extras were enlightening. They were tough guys back then!!
