I know that Rohmer films will involve a lot of dialogue, most of which is unrealistically extended and complex, but, usually engaging. However, in this film the conversations became tedious, not least because the 'heroine' Sabine is such an unattractive, petulant and conceited character. It was unconvincing that she would have her pick of men wanting to marry her.
