I just spotted this when browsing through lists of french films and thought, I wonder if was really as good as I remembered.
Well, it is!
Its very atmospheric from the early wedding scenes onwards. Its a film of its time and I guess younger watchers may consider it slow but its not, its relatively short in duration and well paced.
The 2 lead actors are outstanding and the interaction between them is compelling.
I recommend it as well worth a look
