Gave up on it

This relies a lot on sung recitative with few, if any, melodies or stirring solos, duets or chorus. The pitches of the voices of the different cast members jarred for me. The sub-titles are the most interesting part as the English used is quite often unusual and dated.
The music of Rimsky-Korsakov does not compensate for a rather dull, pedestrian and boring production
