Stunningly shot in Roma, at Cinecitta Studios and on location in Capri, this is the greatest film about international filmmaking and one of the finest films of the 1960s. Relationships break down, amid adultery and tragedy, while Fritz Lang shoots a version of Homer's 'The Odyssey' for a uncultured American producer. My favourite Godard, with career highs for Bardot and Palance. Breathtaking score by Georges Delerue.
