I don't know why the current reviews are so negative: this was a concise, economical piece of film-making, well shot, well acted and with an intriguing plot in which cosmopolitan Western Europeans have to come to terms with their more conservative and traditionalist Eastern European neighbours, newly emerged from centralised government and determined to adhere to their old cultural values and ethics, however unacceptable they may seem to internationalist eyes. I found the film enjoyable and thought-provoking.
