A chick flick with attitude and pink, very pink...

There is just enough of a plot in this to keep everybody interested, though the basic premise (that an interest in girly things can be advantageous in a man's world) is rather laboured. And the way that our hero wins her first big court case is laughable. But maybe that's the point. Rent this DVD and you're not getting Scorcese or even Jane Campion, but just some amusing eye-candy to go with the pizza. And there's nothing wrong with that. Oh, and Reece Witherspoon is realy rather good, and has excelent comic timing.- Was this review helpful to you?

All a bit too cute
By Gray2 (198 reviews) from London, England , 25 Jun 2011Blonde girl gets ditched by boyfriend for being too 'blonde', and hence just not smart enough to be his future wife. So she teaches him a lesson by going to Harvard Law (get the pun in the title - 'Legally'?) School, excelling and doing even better than him. The trouble is it's all too unbelievable: she gets in by passing just one exam (is it really that easy?) and she wins her law cases because there's always some 'fashion' element in them which is the one subject she knows something about. By the fairly predictable end of the film you're still thinking she's just been lucky rather than actually proving a point. Still at least I did get through it. Getting through the early scenes that were dominated by a gaggle of silly giggly young girly-girls was a bit of an endurance test! Watch this just once, and see if you agree with me.- Was this review helpful to you?
