In the sharply funny LEGALLY BLONDE, Reese Witherspoon gives a glittering performance as Elle Woods, the natural blonde sorority queen who enrolls at Harvard Law School. When she first appears, Elle seems to be no more than the bright cousin of CLUELESS's Alicia Silverstone. Expecting her boyfriend Warner Huntington III (.. Read more

Reese Witherspoon tries — and generally succeeds — to be a grown-up version of Alicia Silverstone's character from Clueless in this entertaining comedy. She plays Elle, a sorority queen who's dumped by her rich boyfriend (Matthew Davis) before he goes to Harvard Law School, as he thinks she's not smart enough to be his wife. The vivacious Valley Girl decides to follow him there to prove him wrong and get him back. It's all desperately silly (Elle gets into Harvard by sending a video of herself in a bikini lounging by a pool), but the sight of a pink-clad Elle tottering on stilettos through Harvard's revered halls is hilarious, and Witherspoon is perfect as the girl whose specialist subjects are Cosmopolitan and manicures. There's fine support, too, from Luke Wilson, Selma Blair (as Davis's bitchy new girlfriend) and Jennifer Coolidge.

There is just enough of a plot in this to keep everybody interested, though the basic premise (that an interest in girly things can be advantageous in a man's world) is rather laboured. And the way that our hero wins her first big court case is laughable. But maybe that's the point. Rent this DVD and you're not getting Scorcese or even Jane Campion, but just some amusing eye-candy to go with the pizza. And there's nothing wrong with that. Oh, and Reece Witherspoon is realy rather good, and has excelent comic timing.
This is up there with the best chick flicks, and a good motivational film to get you thinking you can do what ever you want and be who ever you want.
Definatly a must watch film for those who need a pick me up when you feel like everythings going wrong.
Light-hearted, fluffy fun! Reese Witherspoon is excellant as Elle, the blonde with a brain. Only for those who don't take themselves too seriously!
I watched this film with my 12 and 13 year old children who both enjoyed the humour and feel good factor of the story. A good 'fun' film for the whole family.
It's a no brainer but good fun for all the family.

A great film, lots of laughs, really colourful. And Witherspoon gives us a likeable and genuine character. I laughed out loud many a time when i saw it at the cinema. A real feel good film where nothing bad happens.
I've seen this a couple of times, first at the movies when the guy's film we were going to see was full. Can't recommend this highly enough.
It can leave a guy cringing at some of the girliness (do girls really do all that stuff?), but there was loads of laughs in there. The supporting cast all played a part and kept the fun fast and furious.
You could not fail to love the main character and really feel for her as she struggled to prove herself against the blonde prejudice. GREAT MOVIE. Rent this NOW!
i love this film.It is really funny, had a good story, and the dog is cute! It's one of my fave films.
This is a real girly film which is guareented to cheer you up when you're down. It's funny and really worth watching.
This is the perfect chick flick. Invite round a few girlfriends, open a bottle of wine and within 10 minutes you will all want a pink, fluffy pen and a heart shaped notebook instead of a laptop!
I loved it - so will you.
