By Lynguard (1 review) , 23 May 2013Great anime with a good story, is similar to the ghibli franchise so if you're a fan of them then I would highly recommend this film. Great animation and rubbing smooth- Was this review helpful to you?

original legend
By a customer , 17 Apr 2013I liked it all, the story, the animation, and all the characters, it just has a bit of everything and the dubbing is even good. You can imagine the thought that went it to making it. The music is also curiously modern and liked it too.- Was this review helpful to you?

Good but not very original
By Engen (5 reviews) from Bournemouth , 04 Dec 2012The film tells the story of a shy young boy with low self-esteem in modern Japan. After an encounter with a deamon, he is chased into a temple where he meets an unlikely monk who takes him back in time to ancient Japan where there is a war waging between men and deamons. Here he learns that the people look to him as their saviour to put an end to the war. As the boy learns more about new world he now finds himself in, it is clear that things are not as they seem at first. He is torn between knowing who to trust and struggles with the idea that he is the people's long awaited saviour. However, he grows in confidence and discovers that he has abilities that may make a difference after all. The story is very much aligned with the personal development of the main character; how he grows in confidence and learns to fight for what he believes in. The messages are very positive and the animations are very good. However, the story is not very original; merely a slightly different setting to the same story conveyed in several other films. This the main reason for not giving this film a higher rating, as well as the ending feeling like it drags on a bit. For anybody who enjoys anime and films set in a world of magic and adventure, it is definitely a good watch!- Was this review helpful to you?

Light and Entertaining
By Loukas (1 review) , 11 Nov 2012Nice art style, decent plot, reminds me slightly of Ghibli films. Enjoyed it very much. I'd say it was light and fluffy, enjoyable but nothing too deep. Enjoy it as it is without expecting an epic and you'll like this film too.- Was this review helpful to you?
