Leonard Cohen with a twist
By Simon from Crowthorne , 11 May 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
If you want to watch leonard Cohen perform, you'll be dissappointed. This is a variety of musicians putting together a gig of Leonard Cohen songs. There is an interview with Mr Cohen that runs through the gig that breaks thinks up a little. I found it quite interesting, but a little dull.- Was this review helpful to you?

(17)Reverential Bio-Pic
By Cato (705 reviews) from Lydbury North , 05 Mar 2011A rather reverential bio-pic, as most films about musicians usually are, but the songs are great, and the vaious artists do them very well. It took this film to show me just how Jewish Cohen's tunes and arrangements are, some of the accompanying musicians sounded very Klezmer like. Great if you're into Leonard, but some think he's terribly miserable!- Was this review helpful to you?

up there with Dylan
By a customer from Sussex , 23 Apr 2010in the pantheon of American songsters, right up there, Punk and heavy rock may be safe from comparison, but in terms of telling a story, painting a picture,Cohen has, apart from dylan, few peers.- Was this review helpful to you?

I'm your bland
By JackDanielsCat (8 reviews) from Belfast , 17 Oct 2009Cohen is wonderful to watch speaking abouy his life, and the readings from his book are excellent music in themselves. These delights are, however, juxtaposed with the pretentious Tony Blair-like musings of Bono and with some fairly mediocre performances of Cohen's songs by some of his young followers.- Was this review helpful to you?

Cohen fan must see
By yeslek (23 reviews) from Colchester , 23 Jul 2009this was absolutely brilliant apart from the idiot Nick Cave ruining one of Leonard Cohen's greatest songs. On a brighter note though enjoy Jarvis Cocker and the brilliant and beautiful Martha Wainwright. A thoroughly enjoyable DVD- Was this review helpful to you?
