Superb
A great staging done in the inimitable style of the Paris National Opera.
Oddly based around a performance of Don Giovanni the stage becomes the theatre. Set variously in the theatre bar, an orchestra pit and stage on the stage and, most impressive, with a full set of stalls to house the chorus. Add to that the fun element - one of the arias looks as if it was lifted straight from a Madonna video - and you have yourself a visually stunning performance to compliment the music.
Perfect for an opera novice like me. -
