    Poor, Very Poor...

I was hoping that Will Arnett would bring some of his 'Arrested Development' form into this film, but it wasn't to be. Instead Arnett & Shepard go through the motions of an all to predictable attempt at a comedy movie.

Comedy has become more intelligent over the last couple of years and movies like this are a dying breed in an arena that only the classics such as 'Airplane!' will survive. There are possibly one or two moments where you will laugh out loud, but the rest of the time will be spent watching one sub-standard joke after another. You will know why they are meant to be funny but you won't laugh because it's all too obvious.

There are plenty of other, much better, comedies for you to rent, so unless you are really desperate I'd give this one a miss.

    Hillarious

This film is absolutely hilarious. People may recognise Dax as the prankster from punked, but his performance in this movie is priceless. He plays his bitter character excellently. This movies has a really dry sense of humour so may not be for everyone. But those of you who like sarcastic movies that can be quite gross, you will love it.

    Lets Go To Prison

Thought this film was pretty funny from start to finish, especially the way Dax Shepards character started of being the popular one and ended up being something different by the end.

    Could have been better.

It could have been so much funnier. It had a strange tone, half frat-pack style comedy half Shawshank redemption. The whole thing should have been kept lighter with fewer references to rape and threats of death. There weren't any stand-out moments or jokes I can even remember and Dax Shepard was a bit pointless......in fact so was Arnett! It wasn't a bad viewing experience but I would exactly rush to watch it again.

    Give it a miss!!

I had high hopes for this and given there hasn't been a decent prison comedy since Stir Crazy the oppurtunity was ripe for the taking. Unfortunatley it wasnt taken. It started off well enough with a quick and funny backstory but after that it just went downhill. It went for to many gags on the cliched prison subjects till it was boring and predictable. The plot became completley farcical to the point where it felt like the writers just ran out of ideas. but for me its biggest flaw was it got caught in two minds. Was it trying to be a funny film with a socoal consience or a social commentary with a funny spin? Either way it didnt work and apart from possibly no more than 2 laugh out loud moments this sadly was a long srtetch to watch!
