Although I don't understand the language, I still find it highly enjoyable. Don't focus this film as an action movie, its about a good guy turning into a bad guy, but he's actually a good guy then he goes up against the villian which is a bad guy but set the good guy up as a bad guy. A bit of mickey mouse going on in the film with lots of small twist and supprises in the film.

  • As silly as Jelly babies in Goose Town...

I'm a great fan of Chow Yun Fat, but in this film, he was just plain silly. In fact the film was plain silly. Flying trains? Jelly in Goose Town? It's obviously a Chinese comedy, but I couldn't make out what was going on, the subtitles seemed to appear at warp speed, and it became easy to lose the plot. Had to turn it off after 30 minutes, didn't have clue what was supposed to happening.

It's a comedy thriller but I suspect that English folk will find it as difficult to understand the Chinese sense of humour as they would ours. That's not really helped when you have listen to jokes through subtitles. Having said that, it was hard to turn off and I stuck with it to the end (over 2 hours of it) and was glad that I did so in the end. Worth a watch, but you have to work at it a bit in places.

  • More cat and mouse than hard action

A brigand pretends to be the Governor of a town and gets into a battle of wits with the local crime lord.

There's a lot of oneupmanship to catch each other out with the occasional gun fight inbetween but overall I was left a bit unsatisfied.
