    Deeply Moving

This film is over two hours long, but passed by in what seemed like ten minutes,

A truly amazing and deeply moving cinema experience not to be missed by anyone with just the slightest interest in events from ww2.

You feel like you are there on the island suffering every emotion and fear with the brilliant cast of actors,

How this film missed out on a Oscar to the most over rated film of all time The Departed will remain a mystery to me.

    Pitfalls of War and Culture

Clint Eastwood has produced cinematic genius but it is in Japanese. You truly get to see how the Japanese managed their campaign during the second world war. Maybe they could have won if it wasn't for their culture. For example, soliders have to stay and fight even if means they will die. Instead of joining another group of soliders or they perform suicides. This is an excellent film. It still resoniates within me. The last scenes espically.

Outspoken moviemaker Spike Lee has picked a new film fight with actor/director Tyler Perry after suggesting the Madea Goes To Jail star's hit films are a step backwards for African-Americans. The Do The Right Thing director accuses Perry of "coonery and buffoonery" in his films - comments the younger filmmaker has taken exception to. In a taped interview for U.S. news show 60 Minutes, Perry says, "That p**ses me off. It really does - because it's so insulting. "It's attitudes like that that... Read more
