Lewis or Morse?
By bigmagicdog (55 reviews) from Barry , 21 Jun 2008[Highly rated reviewer]
I was a bit reserved when this series arrived without Morse and with Lewis made up to Inspector but I needn't have worried. Plots are still intricate and Colin Dexter gave the thumbs up to the writing. Interestingly the Thasms Valley police refused to co-operate with the series hence the emergence of the Oxfordshire police. Wonder why?- Was this review helpful to you?

(9)Too long
By a customer from Lincoln , 04 Sep 2009Just like Morse, each episode is dragged out for too long. I was impressed with Laurence Fox and enjoyed the interaction between him and 'Lewis'
It is a pity that this series mimics the Morse series. It would have been better to have been set in another city than Oxford.
Despite this, I did enjoy the episodes.- Was this review helpful to you?

Lewis Series 2
By HelenF (20 reviews) from Worcester , 17 Aug 2009I enjoy this genre to start with, which is enhanced by the writing, acting and camera work. (etc)
Laurence Fox is very watchable as DS Hathaway - I like the way he works with the clues or evidence. The two characters are as good together as the predecessors.- Was this review helpful to you?

role revesal
By a customer from scotland , 13 Aug 2009lewis series are great but not the same as morse then life goes on and they are following similar patterns of working through the mystery.lewis is the same as ever although older and more worldly. he has loast his wife ect and still looking up to his predeseser.hathaway is a college man like morse himself and gets the clues from his college background and so the old pattern emerges.the ending is sweet we see lewis more in morses light as the one after the women and into his music and the young hathaway thinking his music is old.great resemblence of the old partnership of lewis/morse.- Was this review helpful to you?
