If you want to learn to play some Led Zeppelin classics such as Black Dog, Rock And Roll, The Immigrant Song, Heartbreaker and of course the ever popular guitar shop classic Stairway To Heaven! then this is the very DVD for you.
Lick Library have a great reputation and some great instructors, that seem to take impossible guitar parts in there stride, and as this is essentially blues based tutor Jamie Humpries is your man, and a fine job he does to
the only criticism that could be flung at the is DVD is the judicious use of digital delay, its not big and its not clever and muddies up the general guitar sound, which is the last thing you what on a tutorial DVD.
If it hadnt been for all the digital delay..elay..lay.ay.. it would have got 5 stars.
Brilliant tuition, this guy makes learning Jimi Page's sometimes scruffy guitar licks and solos look very easy.
Very very good DVD..
A good learning tool but occasionally Jamie just goes a bit too fast. Luckily I have Slowgold guitar software on my PC which in combination with the Zep DVD made things better.
Jamie also goes on about overdubs and how difficult it is to know where Jimmy Page is going. A possible solution would have been to have transcribed the 'Live' versions where there are no overdubs.
All in all not a bad DVD, but others in the series have been better.
Don't get this if you're a novice!
Excellent tuition DVD. Much easier to follow than a book. Its like having private tuition, cant recommend highly enough.

Again excellent note for note instruction by lick library.Well worth renting against buying as you may not require all the songs featured.
hmmm, I wasn't as convinced with this tutorial DVD as some of the others I had tried previously (G'N'R, Thin Lizzy). The songs chosen were not, in my opinion, some of the more popular songs that a Led Zep guitarist fan would possibly choose. Sure 'Stairway' is there but what guitarist doesn't already know that one by heart! Some others were just a simple one-riff (Immigrant song) repeated throughout without anything else other than some random Jimmy Paige pieces thrown in that could be adlibed anyways. Also to have 2 songs on a DVD seemed a little lacking in value for money.
Okay overall for a few essential riffs and licks but overall nothing too inspirational.
Let me know when there's some 'Over the hills & far away', 'tangerine' and 'achilles last stand' on the way...
I rented this purely to learn Stairway To Heaven and I thought the tuition for this was fantastic, as I picked it up very quickly.
An excellent DVD rendered completely useless by the lack of TABS.
You never get any TAB booklets sent out with a rental DVD.
What a waste of time.
