A brave attempt at seriously documenting a sadomasochistic relationship. Young girl becomes involved with a man twice her age who has sadistic leanings. She embraces his tastes and quickly becomes both pain receiver and giver. No doubt this Korean movie would enrage the moral 'majority' but then most of them wouldn't watch it anyway. It's not exploitative, as far as I can see, and for those with a more balanced viewpoint, where sex is concerned, this is an interesting and believable story. The SM content is surprisingly graphic and well acted, looking fairly real in all of the sequences. Inevitably, as the intensity of the relationship cools, the intensity of the 'pain' increases and cracks begin to appear in the relationship. Ultimately it's a love story that involves its' participants in a fierce addiction to physical sensation. Intelligent and realistic.
