Policing at it's best!!By Mike Thompson from Runcorn, Cheshire, England , 31 Mar 2007
[Highly rated reviewer]This is how policing should be!!
Well, some of it.....no red tape, no bloody human rights....
Oh, and it is a fantastic series, John Simm & Philip Glenister are brilliant actors....it's just a shame it can't go on for more and more series.
It would be good for Sam to go back to his year and meet DCI Hunt as an old man, and they have one of those 'deja vu' moments....
Get it, watch it and fully enjoy it!!

Dad's green Ford Cortina on speedBy Boredsecretary (6 reviews) from Chigwell , 06 Jun 2011I am completely addicted to this series. Can't believe I missed it first time round on tv.
The seventies styling is bang on. It's such a trip down memory lane to my childhood while at the same time giving me a chance to visit an adult world that I don't remember at that age.
A world before political correctness and compensation claims for villians. Bring it all back I say!
Gene Hunt, your DCI and it's 1973. Almost dinnertime, I'm 'aving Hoops.By a customer , 15 Apr 2011Love love love this. Gene Hunt Rules. Sound track is awsome.
I can watch the whole series over and over. Must see TV.
After this must watch Ashes to Ashes. Helps you understand Life on Mars.
Missed it? Life on Mars S1By Roddyb (2 reviews) from Crawley, West Sussex , 16 Feb 2011You can be forgiven for missing the first series as nothing like it preceded it. Nothing prepares you for the skill that BBC Wales present the 1970's with all the amazing extras of wall hangings, sweets, music, the cars and the clothes.
Philip Glennister and John Simms give brilliant performances that carry this so well (to be contrasted by Harvey kietels performance in the abortive US production).
Life on Mars - Series OneBy a customer from Lincoln , 19 Jan 2011Having missed this series on TV, it was an obvious choice for rental and what a treat it has been! It has been interesting to see all the things that we grew up with but had forgotten about, the nostalgia value has been brilliant! Each episode deals with the turmoil of John Simm, both with his personal situation and his need to see policing methods brought up to his own personal standards. Philip Glenister and the rest of the watch are a pleasure to see - we can't wait for the rest of the discs to arrive!
Go on you wont be disappointedBy Rio1234 (179 reviews) from Barking , 18 Sep 2010This series is the best one I have ever seen. Storyline and acting should be given a gold award or oscar. The Best Police series one not to miss. Grab yourself a drink, Crisps, and sit and watch you wont move an inch, ENTERTAINMENT AT ITS BEST. you will be singing along to the music soundtrack, lets get back to the 80s......
