This was an enjoyable film and very well acted on all counts.
The narrative was sufficient to keep you interested, plus a good dose of suspense although perhaps a little slow during the second half.
My only reservation is that the ending is predictable and badly explained. However, the ride that gets you there is sufficient reason to watch it.
If I don't sound too excited it's because I'm not; but if you're looking for a good evening filler then this is a sound choice.
THE worst film I have ever seen! Acting is wooden, storyline is rubbish - don't even waste your time!
This is the best thriller I have seen in a long time: not so much because of the plot ( more a whydunnit than a whodunnit), but because of the atmosphere created and the emotional and intellectual journey it takes you through.
The action is set in a boarding school, and it is both an oppressive and evocative location, the surrounding nature gives a solemn beauty to even the grimmest actions.
The cast is brilliant: Toni Collette is fascinating as always:you can see every nuance of the emotional palette on her face, the young protagonists are charismatic and believably disturbed and smart, with no touch of egotistical mugging or ' make me a Hollywood star' acting.
The interesting way the plot unfolds makes the audience guess what sort of thing is about to happen without giving it a reason for its happening.
Even when all the clues seem to have been given, the mystery deepens as to the motivation of the perpetrator.
I wish this movie had been longer or that there would be a sequel.
very hard to stay interested in this film
If you like english films and pleanty of twist and turns you will love this. The two lead boys are very well matched to play the lead.
Wasn't sure where it was going to go right until the end.
Truley worth a watch

Split personality demonstration very well acted. The only lack of reality is that only one person decided innocence or guilt which is not the way in which the system is supposed to work.
The film was quite predictable and long draw out at times.
Don't bother absoute pants!
Darn you Toni Collette. I only rented this movie because, on the whole, anything with this Australian wonder in is going to be fairly concrete. How wrong I was. I should have read the warning signs: two major Australian actors in an... Australian movie.. .set in England... in an English movie? Oh, and the film was renamed when it hit American shores. Alarm bells should have steered me away from this.
Not a single character is likeable nor is explored in any interesting way whatsoever. It concerns Alex (Redmayne - stick to period pieces mate) and an unexplored connection to a roommate with a questionable background. He spouts a load of rubbish about thought patterns being transferred like radio waves - this kind of dialogue i think needs to be returned to whichever mid 90's Kevin Williamson movie it was inspired from. There's also some nonsense about the Cathars thrown in for good/ some measure.
By the end of the movie the audience will surely be left stumped, lied to, and cheated out of 110 minutes.
Taut, tense intriging thriller with the always superb Toni Collette, who unfortunately does not share much screen time. However, well acted, but a little confusing to say the least. Still don't know what the ending was about...but thats cool..Recommended.
too much going on i ost my way half way through the film. unsure if it was trying to be a horror or thriller but neither worked
This film could of easily gone on for more then 2 hrs rather then the 90 mins it was on for. It was well written and acted. If it had more time then further sub plots could of been revealed and a lil more action could of occured. But it was a great film with a good story.
