    Not for the shockable.

A naughty blonde French girl, living in a poor part of Paris, is strangely attracted to a young Arab boy from the same neighbourhood. She follows him everywhere. But the boy is hesitant. He likes to write, and both his mother and French teacher believe he has real talent. It is when Lila begins to tell him about her wild sexual fantasies, that he decides to write the stories down, sensing that in spite of her crude and daring language and provocative behaviour, there is something fragile about Lila. He tries to protect her from his friends who have only one thing on their minds. It's a love story of sorts, about love between two very different young people, and how through one another, they each work out their fantasies, leading them down different paths.

    Beautiful film in many ways

I loved this film. The girl is incredibly sexy and the interplay of cultures is very well done. I felt like giving the main male character a kick up the rear end. The mixture of tragedy, stupidity yet hope just left me glad I had seen it.

    great

I loved this movie. Grea plot and very good actors. It is sweet and naughty and it is about coming of age and how a teenager's mind uses fantasy to deal the hard things in life.

It's about the first love and the fear of feelings.

It is about dreams and reality and how poor people can have hope even if life seem doomed.

It is a sweet movie beautifully filmed.

    Brilliant Lebanese film

It is set in Beirut, not in Lebanon, and that is what makes this film brilliant. It is an exploration of teenagers and war.

    Coming of age film....

.... set in post 9/11 Marseille about a young French girl, Lila, and an Arab boy, Chimo. Chimo is a talented young writer who passes on the opportunity to study at a school in Paris for writers and instead spends his days pointlessly hanging out with his 3 Arab friends in the slums where they live. One day he meets Lila, who plays the seductress with Chimo and talks boldy of her sexual experiences and fantasies. Lila is enchanting but Chimo at times doesn't really know what to make of her boldness and whilst he starts to develop feelings for Lila, his youth and inexperience means he doesn't really know how to deal with these emotions. It is ultimately a touching film with an underlying theme that is believable and relatable. Personally, I really liked it and would recommend it.
